ItalfoodOst vs Cantine di Dolianova

How was the Dolianova winery founded?

Cantine di Dolianova was founded in 1949 in Sardinia, thanks to a group of winemakers who formed a co-operative to try to improve the fruit of their own labours, giving a common strength to the commitment of individuals. The love for the land, the passion for the vineyard, the commitment to always trying to improve and produce a wine of superior quality, has been passed on from father to son. Today there are 300 members, many in the third generation, with over 1,200 hectares of properties.

Yours is a success story, even abroad, true?

In just the last ten years our wines have won over 100 awards for their quality.

We have long crossed the Tyrrhenian to reach not only the rest of Italy, but also many markets throughout the 5 continents. In addition to countries throughout Europe we also have a presence in America, Asia, Africa and Oceania.

Which vines characterise your production?

The South-East of Sardinia is one of the sunniest parts of the island and here, particularly in the Parteolla region, the great wines of Cantine di Dolianova are produced. The whole area is characterized by low hills and undulating terrain, where mild and rainy winters alternate with warm and dry summers. The most typical vines of the Sardinian tradition, Cannonau, Monica, Vermentino, Nuragus, Moscato, Nasco and Barbera Sarda find here the ideal habitat to cultivate the grapes that form the base of our wines.
