When was the Giorgi winery born?

The origins of the Giorgi winery date back to 1875 when the first winemaking generation of the Giorgi family produced wine for the families of neighbouring countries. Over time Giorgi has evolved, in part owing to the brothers Gianfranco and Antonio, who built modern and technologically very advanced cellars in the Oltrepò Pavese, the leading land of Pinot Noir.

Today Giorgi Vini exports to 59 countries worldwide, has more than 160 agents in Italy, and has been awarded the most important international and national awards (Tre Bicchieri Gambero Rosso and Cinque Grappoli sommelier).

Is your secret, more than a century of history?

The family has been at the centre of our company since 1875 to this day, with the little Ginevra, the latest generation, which has given its name to a new Giorgi creation.

The old family vineyards have been revitalised and new plots of land have been selected and acquired, which are ideal for each type of vine. The whole process of the wine production chain is guaranteed, thanks also to the most innovative oenological techniques, to guarantee a unique quality in every single line of wine, without ever neglecting tradition. In the vineyards the castigata pruning is practiced, the soils are fertilized exclusively with natural products, the production by stock is inferior to the norm, the harvesting of the grapes, always selected, takes place at the precise moment of maturation, and the pressing and fermentation are strictly controlled.

What is the wine that distinguishes you?

It's Pinot Noir. We were the first to offer it on a national scale and we have made it a cult product that identifies us today all over the world.
