Viticcio is located among the rolling hills of Tuscany, in Greve in Chianti, a village between Florence and Siena. The winery encompasses 120 hectares of estate-owned land, divided into two estates: the first one among the hills of Chianti Classico and the other one in Maremma.
We cultivate different varieties of vines, both native and international: sangiovese, syrah, merlot, cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, vermentino and foglia tonda (literally round leaf), a rare grape variety, considered extinct in the past centuries but recently rediscovered.
Our philosophy is based on a great balance between traditional winemaking and innovative technologies, always respecting the environment. Indeed, the vineyards have been cultivated using organic techniques and natural treatments. Since 2013 the production is totally organic.
Thanks to the combination of all the elements I was talking to you about, the wines are traditional and elegant, expressing the incredible terroir with classic yet fresh style. The grapes are carefully harvested in the vineyards first and selected in the cellar later, always by hand. Every single grape variety is vinified separately at controlled temperature. Using the most advanced technologies, we guide the winemaking process and choose the best tonneaux and French oak barrels to age the wines in the cellar.
