Food Sardegna (ITALY)
Considered as one of the world’s most ancient bread, Carasau Bread is typical of Sardinia, of Barbagia area in particular, and it is also known with the name of “carta musica” (music paper) for its crispness and for the typical noise it makes when you break it.
This bread without soft part inside is the food that Sardinian shepherds used to take along while sheep herding as it keeps fragrant for long: leavened, cooked and then toasted, it is a round and very thin sheet of bread.
It can be tasted alone, or as an accompaniment to cold meats, cheeses, paté, or in other various creative recipes!
