Designation symbol of the bond with the territory

An important part of central Lazio includes the production area of ROMA DOC (Controlled Designation of Origin). This designation was born in 2011 and is recognized as interpreter of a thousand-year-old city and its ancient bond with viticulture.

Vineyards dedicated to Roma DOC are those cultivated in the area of Colli Albani, Colli Prenestini, Sabina romana, part of the Roman countryside and coast, and some districts of Rome city. These are territories whose pedo-climatic conditions are perfect to start a production of excellent level.

Malvasia del Lazio, Bellone, white Bombino and yellow and green Trebbiano are the varieties that compose Roma Bianco DOC: a light, straw yellow in colour, floral and balanced in taste white wine.

Montepulciano, Sangiovese, Cesanese di Affile and Cesanese comune are the base for Roma Rosso DOC. They confer a good body and persistence, as well as soft and well balanced tannins.

Nose: intense notes of ripe red fruit. Hints of spice and vanilla resulting from ageing in wood
Pairing: spiced grilled meat and typical Roman specialties: sweetbreads with artichokes, Roman-style tripe, coda alla vaccinara (oxtail stew).
